                       STORY

Back in America, I just moved from Texas back to New Jersey, I had this Aunty I used to talk to but have never met her, we met through social media like most of my other friends. I went to check out the new school I was transferring to in New Jersey, so I messaged her that I went to check out my schl but I needed her advice about somethings so she should please call me when she's free because she's also a mother and she's busy.

She then replied me that she's in New York now(she lives in New Jersey too but very far from where I stay and my part and her part of New Jersey was very close to New York). I only went to New York when my mum arrived and myself and my uncle went to pick her up which was early 2013, so I didn't know anything and how to go about it. I then told her, she said I should check the train website (she sent it to me) and check for the next train leaving to New York so I should come straight from school, I wasn't doing anything in school and it was just 10 so I started walking to the bus side. I didn't know anything about bus and train I was even wondering how I would be getting to school. So I checked my bag only for me to see that I left my bank of Americas card at home. AHH!

I had already told her am coming and am on my way, she went with her son and her sisters kids to the park so she wanted us to be discussing as The kids were playing. I was devastated when I saw that I had only 10 dollars with me, because to even enter taxi back home I needed 50 dollars. I then went to meet one lady, she was about to enter her car then i said I want to enter the bus going to the rain station and i dont know anything about it, she said there's a bus going there straight from school, and it's one dollar 50 cent, I was so happy, then I said I have 10 dollars and I don't know if they could give me change on the bus because I never use to enter the bus or train in Texas and when I was in New Jersey previously. She said no they wouldn't but she has some coins that do i mind if she gives me? (In my mind am like JESU OSHE OOO) I said no problem she then gave me 3 dollars (coins) I was so happy, I thanked her joyful. Americans look at u as a fool at times when u are rejoicing for no reason lol then I waited for the bus to come, I checked for the train and it was 14 dollars 50 cent Another AHH!  I looked up to God I said God I know am a sinner but please I beg you, favor me today let me keep meeting merciful people don't let me be disappointed because i obviously wouldnt want to message aunty that i left my card at home and stuff. people think differently, and i dont want any one to come and start having one weird impression about me. I went into the bus, we got to the train station, I asked how I would get my ticket one guy explained to me to go to one office down the train station, I did. I then told him I have only 10 dollars that I didn't know it would be 14, Americans don't look at your face when you are looking pitiful lol what's their own business, I was sha waiting there, tried to gather all my useless coins in my bag with the 10 dollars, he then said just bring it I would pay for the rest (AH! THANK YOU JEHOVAH) I quickly gave it to him.. He gave me the ticket and I waited for the train to come, I had forgotten I needed money to get to the place Aunty was from new yorks train station again!

The train finally came and I got the privilege to sit beside one black American man like this. So my friend dayo called me at that point then I said I was on my way to New York we just talked randomly and then later this man then tapped me to ask me if am from Africa, me that I wasn't in the mood, the whole stress and all was just annoying, I was giving him attitude then he said he's wife is from nigeria that her name is also Dayo (Lmao) he then showed me her pic and he said she had 3 kids from nigeria so she hasn't given birth for him Yet in my mind am like bruh forget it she just used you for blue passport 😂. So we just started talking and all and he was so nice after all, then he was going to get down a stop before the final New York train station then he said please have this 10 dollars for lunch (in my mind am like OOSHE) at that point I almost passed out because I was just full of joy, I said thank youuuu.

So when I got to New York I was so hungry, I just went to mc Donald's to get somethings it was about 7.25 dollars I just had to eat so i wouldnt collapse So i  started the journey from New York train station to the park she said I should come to. I then messaged her that am in New York train station, I thought she would even say let me come and pick you, she said it's just 5 mins away, enter one bus like that (she explained it), I was laughing at myself I said okay ma am coming.
New York is just like eko market people were just walking and walking I couldn't even enter the bus because people were just way too much, I decided to walk. She told me to come to 59 street or something, I started walking from twenty something street (cant really remember the names of the streets), New York is quite congested so you would just be walking and not rest because people would be doing the same. In New Jersey if the hand sign comes up the driver stops and wait for people to cross but in my dear "New York City" even after the hand sign had stopped, people were literary still crossing for like 10 minutes I was tired but I was still laughing like this is the New York some people would say they can't move from, though there would be other calm places in there sha.

I walked for about an hour and 30 minutes till I finally got to the 59 street. Honestly speaking i was weak but i couldn't stop because people kept on walking and walking too. I then called Aunty again she said oya walk to this and that like another 20 minutes before I could locate her again. I walked again, I was sweating like a Christmas goat, it was summer!

So I finally got to the central park, she said I should come in that they pay some money that I should pay and she would give me back inside. I was praying it wouldn't be more than 5 dollars only for me to get there and hear it's about 15 dollars am like oh my God what is this again? Tears of pain actually dropped from my face because I was frustrated. I told the guy that he should please that I came to see someone here am not a baby that wants to play with toys or eat pop corn and all,  he said I should go and meet the lady at the other counter. And before then I was just standing and waiting hopelessly! I went to meet the lady, Lo and Behold her name was Dami! I said oti eh da (it's good like that) I said my sister my name is dami too o and I explained to her, she was laughing, the fact that i was a Nigerian like her gave her the drive to even help me :) she then said she has to talk to the guards that I should wait. That is how one white woman just bought tickets for herself and her kids and she had one extra she just said young lady do you need a ticket? I said yes then she just gave it to me and disappeared! Honestly speaking I don't know where she went to, I was happy and confused like what's this? I walked in and auntty called my name and said see me here, I managed to laugh like it was nice then she saw my ticket she said Ah you even bought the food ticket? Don't worry I would give you everything she just brought out 40 dollars and squeezed it into my hands am like OSHEEE! I then explained to her she was laughing that so I actually walked about 30 blocks? That's ridiculous. Sha later she drove me back to New Jersey and dropped me at one train station, she taught me how to enter train and bus to school and from there back home I didn't even spend up to 10 dollars and if it was taxi i would have spent like 70 dollars because it was farther than where taxi picked me in the morning that I paid 50 dollars. So from the train station in my house area to my house I was tired I just had to enter a taxi it was about 5 mins away,I had to pay 10 dollars when we got home I gave the man 20 dollars then he said he doesn't have 10 dollars that he just resumed duty and am the first he's carrying, I was too tired to argue i sha told him that's not my business I don't have 10 dollars and I can't leave my 10 dollars for him then he said I should just go lol he was angry sha but i no dey look face :).

With joy I got home past 9 which was strange cos I get home latest 7 because I don't go out and i don't stay out late. It was a day of unexpected mercy and favor, that's when I started believing that God actually listens to even small prayers. The next morning i woke up like 10am, i had to take pain reliever then my awesome Tosin had to help me stretch my legs because the useless new york walk almost took my legs away but thanks to God for saving my awesome legs lol.
Anything you need, even if it's something very tiny you think he would ignore, he would do it, try it and see :).

Finally! - Am A Writer & Author

i came back from school (America) December 2014 hoping to go back as soon as possible but my dad had another plan for me. He wanted me to transfer schools. Different things happened. I had the longest holiday from school in 2015, it wasn't easy for me too many things happened at once but then God doesn't just delay you for no reason, this particular holiday am talking about Birthed "ONCE UPON A TIME"..  I was bored, nothing to do, then I picked up my laptop and started typing. I am grateful to God for making this my dream a reality. From the onset my dad supported me and my mum was my backbone, my siblings would read the story over and over again and say "Sister Damilola you tried".. I never knew I would write a book but I always knew I loved to write, and I had intention of writing scripts and probably sell or give out but i never knew I would do this, right now i have about 3 short stories i have written almost like once upon a time. i had a tough

Independent woman!

I don't blog on Sunday's but I had to just put up this story and I want it to get to as many people as possible so because of that, there wouldn't be any story up until upper week :).   Every day of my life since have been growing into a woman, I have always imagined myself as a very strong and independent woman. I don't like depending on people at all, I hate it! If you ask my parents am sure they would tell you, i just love to do things on my own because that brings no dissappointment.. Parents dissappoint, friends dissappoint, even partners and siblings dissappoint the only person that doesn't dissappoint is God and I know he has my back. Growing up has shown me so many things and how people can be, it's even the ones that you really love deeply that start showing you that you don't really mean anything to them, some wouldn't even want to talk to you because you probably forgot to message or something and it's even worse because you even ask peopl

The spirit of STINGINESS!

I have watched serveral movies and read different stories and even heard different ones. So am going to share one of it today.   Somepeople are so stingy like I can't explain, it's very sad because me if I like you I can do anything for you and if I don't and I see you need help I would do it but somepeople are self centered with anything, if you ask them for somethig they would always give excuse, I have people am very close to that are like that, they are nice but they are stingy and am sure they even know. What's there to help if you have? Ordinary 1000 somepeople have but they would still cut it to 500 naira 😑, somepeople are even from very rich homes but they would still minimize their life. If i don't give you, believe me it's because I don't have and if I have i would try my best to do one I can. And to stingy people, your reward is coming . There was a man and his wife, they were stingy to the core, asin they were so stingy that if they fart and the
